Another fascinating station is Fip. It's French, so non musical stuff will be in the language, but Fip Jazz is constant jazz music with very little chat if none at all, especially on the mobile phone.

My brother and myself have discovered new internet radio stations. Two from France and a couple from the USA.The two from the States are Paradise Radio from California and WUCF Jazz from Orlando,Florida. (WUCF is The Western University Of Central Florida).

Sometimes, BBC Radio 2 can be damn boring.

Today BBC Radio 3 is all about soundtracks, and thus movie music. With the Academy Awards tonight it will be interesting to see what soundtrack music gets the award at the Oscars. Will it be Oppenheimer or Barbie ( Read more... )

What I would love to have for Xmas is a set of those BBC Radio Dramas of the Simon Brett Charles Paris thespian and sleuth series with Bill Nighy as the eponymous Charles Paris. They are light, funny and brilliant.

My enthusiasm for Night Tracks and Late Junction - from BBC Radio 3 - was not reciprocated by my brother. He mentioned it was boring. Okay, in general, these are gentle and laid-back musical pieces from classical, electronic, and world music in general. Well, BBC Radio 3 is still not showing my usual Saturday listens. No jazz program nor world music or the improv one Freeness. Effing Beeb!

However, looking at the radio 4 schedule - that is back to normal today. So I listened to The Briefing Room and The Infinite Monkey Cage with Professor Brian Cox.

Unclassified is a BBC Radio 3 music program that is just unclassifiable and yet full of diversity to my ears when it comes to electroacoustic music and similar genres. Compared by Elizabeth Alker, who was a voice that melts my heart. Check it out.
